Antigone’s Lament (Tina’s Song) words and music by Donald R. Goldsmith aka BB Wolfe COPYRIGHT 2012 BMI

She came to me
One night in a dream
Had I known her long
Is not the way it seemed
Yet when she spoke
It all came back to me.

Philosophy
Pours out of her mind
Like a melody
Intertwined with mine
When I held her close
Two forms create a line.

Antigone
Lives inside her head
Where misfortune lies
In a bloodlines tangled web
Her unborn wish
had risen from the dead.

Ambivalence
Came to crown her queen
The mirror she held
Cast all blame on me
When the knot gave way
Her ship went out to sea.

CHORUS:
In this life, there is
An off-hand glimpse
Where the Real exists

In the instant
That’s here yet never here
Like tiny drops of rain
That fall into the sea
Coalesce
With all eternity
